School Direct Route
Candidates are employed by the school and put through a training course with a certified teacher training provider where in house and external training is provided including placement in at least one other local school for a short period of time.
Salaried Route
At Future Schools Trust (FST) we are proud to work closely with TES, Teach in Kent and Teach First. If you chose to embark on a school direct, salaried route into teaching you would be employed by FST in one of schools as an unqualified teacher and then enrolled on a teacher training course with one of our certified teacher training providers.
The school direct route offers candidates the opportunity for both in house and external training, giving candidates the opportunity to benefit from a dedicated subject mentor who will support them daily. We also have a dedicated trust lead for pedagogy and practice and an ITT trust coordinator, to help widen the support network available in each of our schools. The salaried route also includes a placement in at least one other local school for a short period of time, enriching your pathway into teaching.

Unsalaried Route
This route is similar to the above however candidates are responsible for the funding of their course and the training provider will organise placements. With this route students have the option of applying for funding or bursaries. Please sue the below link to discover more.

Eligibility
Candidates must have achieved a standard equivalent to a grade 4 GCSE in English and Mathematics (and Science if you are training to teach at primary level). Candidates with overseas qualifications should provide a ENIC statement to demonstrate the equivalency of their qualification.
Candidates must hold a first degree from a UK higher education institution or equivalent qualification 2:2 or above.
